Introduction, Continued
The game is set in the distant future. Humans have colonized new worlds and are spreading out across the universe. At the same time, two groups of alien races are searching the universe for humans. The first is a benevolent group of fish-people that refer to humans as the "exulted ones." It turns out that the human race is the basis of a far-reaching galactic religion that believes the mythic creatures will usher in a new age of galactic harmony. The second group is another race called the Seekers, who roam space in search of humans for the purpose of exterminating them. Both groups are converging on your planet.
You are Gideon Wyeth, a rookie pilot. At home you've got a beautiful fiancé whom you'll have to save at some point. Your first mission is to protect an ambassador on her way to speak with the fish-people. Once you get there, however, all Hell breaks loose.

The arrival of the Seekers sets off a series of catastrophic events that you must survive. In addition, the Seekers have mobilized against you and will hunt down all humans unless you kill them first. But this isn't a simple kill-the-aliens game; this part of the plot is the first segment in a trio of epic sagas. There are plot twists, back stabbings and a touch of political intrigue that make Advent Rising feel like it was adapted from a classic science fiction novel. The well-planned and well-written story is compelling enough to keep you playing.
